Biographical Information:
John Boyd is the Chair of the Music Department at Southwestern Adventist University. He teaches the music theory, music appreciation, and assists in the vocal department and accompanies the choirs in performance. Prior to Texas, Boyd spent two years in Lincoln writing his dissertation while contract teaching for Union College. His dissertation at the University of Northern Colorado was composing a piano concerto. He taught ten years at Campion Academy in Loveland, Colorado, and fourteen years at Laurelwood Academy in Oregon. In academy work he taught piano, voice, instrumental, choral, and band. He is an active composer and arranger, both commission and freelance.
John Boyd has accompanied many choral festivals and recitals, played in several jazz groups in Colorado, and is the organist and musical director for All Saints Episcopal in Weatherford, Texas.
