3. What can I do with a English degree?

 

Graduates look forward to careers as high school English teachers or for graduate level study in English. A major in English is also an important asset to any student who wishes to specialize in several professional areas: law, medicine, business, public relations or federal service. Since many employers recognize the value of a liberal education, students are encouraged to consider the possibility of a double major, thus increasing their opportunities for employment.

 

4. What is unique about SWAU's program?  

 

Each year the English department performs a live theatrical drama of a classic literary work. In Spring 2004, the performance of "As You Like It" (Shakespeare) involved about 75 students in various roles: actors, actresses, stage hands, make-up artists, directors, producers, sound and lighting technicians, ticket sales and promotion. More than 600 people attended the drama.
