Southwestern Adventist University offers graduate programs in two areas:The Master of Education (MEd) in Elementary Education degree with emphases in English and science and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.

Master of Business Administration

Both degrees are delivered in the spirit common to all SWAU programs-that of providing outstanding, affordable, student-centered education in a Christian/Adventist environment.

Targeted to both full-time or working students, the Master of Business Administration program is an interdisciplinary degree, which combines finance, accounting, marketing, management, information systems, international business and organizational behavior in an environment that is both practical and theoretical. This theoretical-practical approach fosters the development of critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities so important in the workplace.

Students can choose from three emphasis areas: Leadership, accounting (leading to preparation for the CPA exam) or international business.

The MBA culminates in a capstone course called "Strategic Management," which asks students to integrate their new-found knowledge by developing "company" policy at the general or top management level.

Master of Education

The Master of Education program provides veteran educators and new graduates with enhanced knowledge in the administrative and elementary areas of education. Students in the MEd program will have the opportunity to complete a professional paper, written in conjunction with the course, "Research Methods." The program encourages students to reflect on their educational experiences, integrating them into their professional lives. The MEd degree from Southwestern is available with an emphasis in Educational Leadership, or Curriculum & Instruction with Reading Emphasis.
