She gained hands-on experience working as a news director at the college radio station, KSUC (now KJCR).

After graduation, Judy was the recipient of the Philanthropic Service for Institute’s development internship at Southwestern. After working for her /alma mater/, she served more than 15 years within the largest protestant not-for-profit health system in the country, the Adventist Health System (AHS). She began a working relationship with AHS in 1989 at Huguley Memorial Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Then she spent six years at AHS hospitals in Nashville, Tennessee, where her energetic presence was felt as director of public relations and later annual fund coordinator. She briefly returned to Texas, as director of community relations and development at Metroplex Hopital in Killeen.

She is married to Jonathan Leach (pictured), also a graduate of Southwestern, who is an ordained minister and AHS executive. The couple is blessed by a daughter, Angelica Grace Anne, otherwise known as the center of their universe. Judy is the regional director of marketing and outreach for Adventist Health System’s Midwest region, which includes numerous hospitals and affiliated entities. Judy has a passion for community involvement and has received numerous professional achievement awards. She gives credit to the inspiration she received while doing community outreach at Southwestern.
