After graduating from SWAU and then earning a master of divinity degree from the seminary at Andrews University, he accepted a call to pastor near Little Rock, Arkansas. Then he served as a pastor in the Arizona Conference and later became senior pastor of the Keene Seventh-day Adventist church. After returning to the SWAU campus for six years, he accepted a call to be secretary for the Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Next he was appointed president of the Nevada-Utah Conference.

Larry is the pastor of the Burleson, Texas Seventh-day Adventist church. He identifies himself with one ministerial goal, that is to encourage and enable pastors and laity to work together to accomplish our mission as a Church. His passion for pastoral ministry was cultivated while was studying theology at Southwestern Adventist University. He and his wife, Jeannine Keplinger ’66, have two married daughters.
