Your first day as a student at Southwestern Adventist University signals the start of a brand new chapter in your life. You have a clean page to write your story: a story of success, achievement, joy, sadness, new friends and experiences and exciting opportunities.
CORE--Character, Opportunity, Responsibility and Eternity is the theme of our freshman orientation. It's a full five days of breakout sessions, fun, meeting your classmates, moving in, adjusting to the college environment, figuring out your class schedule, career counseling, and making your residence hall room feel like home. You'll learn how to navigate D2L, deal with stress, succeed when taking exams, understand the nuances of academic integrity and much more.
CORE is required of all freshmen. It is part of a one-hour credit class: UNIV 110. Participation is part of your grade.
