Eric Anderson, president

According to an old adage, “it’s not just what you say, but it’s how you say it.”  Lately we have been discussing both parts of that adage.  The reality is that there are a lot of good things to say about Southwestern Adventist University.  But there are inherent challenges in spreading that information in a consistent way.

The resources here represent a considerable amount of research and careful thought about how we can most effectively strengthen the Southwestern Adventist University brand in our community and around the world.

The system of logos, wordmarks, and slogans, along with the descriptions and abbreviations that define them, are a part of the language we will utilize to communicate about the University, and their consistent use will help to strengthen the University's brand recognition.

I invite you to make use of these resources. I can hardly emphasize enough the importance of implementing the standards established in our standards guide, regardless of the scope of the project or the size of the audience.

In most circumstances, Marketing & Public Relations will be the best avenue to producing materials, whether a project requires printed or electronic media (or even t-shirts).  Many of the departments on campus are already enjoying working with the award-winning professionals on our campus who are consistently producing first-rate materials in order to spread the word about Southwestern Adventist University.

Again, I would like to emphasize the importance of putting these standards into practice consistently.  Doing so will not only strengthen Southwestern’s brand recognition in our visual communication, but it will also help to solidify our reputation as a mature institution.

If you have further questions, or to make arrangements for an upcoming project, please contact Marketing & Public Relations at (817) 202-6629.

In a time when many people are unsure about the future, one of our best resources is a body of communication that speaks to the mission and purpose of Southwestern Adventist University in a consistent and unified manner.  Thank you for your cooperation and compliance with these standards.

And as always, thank you for being a part not just of what we say, but also how we say it.
