Plans are made for a new building on the SWAU campus. The two story building will house the education, business, and social science departments. University President, Donald R. Sahly, displayed the architectural drafts and floor plans in a recent faculty and staff meeting. This building will enhance the academic environment on our campus, said Sahly. We are seeing our enrollment increase, thus we need larger classrooms, another computer lab, and additional office space to accommodate the teaching faculty.
The builders say they could complete this structure in five months. Two large amphitheater style lecture halls will have seating for 100-150. Seven seminar style classrooms will be located on the first level. Students will enjoy the two level lounge and reading area for studying and socializing. About 15 offices will be available for the SWAU faculty. Additionally, a large conference room, several smaller meeting rooms, and the large computer lab will be located on the second level.
