SWAU supports student initiatives to lead their own missions. Most recently, SWAU student Claudio Japas organized a boat trip down the Amazon, where students and medical professionals spent 10 days on the river, stopping in villages to help people with their medical and dental needs.
Directing a mission trip such as this takes grit and determination and reaps huge rewards, not only for the people you help, but for you as well. You will mature in ways you can hardly imagine now, gaining people skills, fund-raising savvy and organizational abilities you can use in your professional and personal life.
