Hey Everybody!
Thanks for all your letters, emails, etc. I apologize if I haven’t emailed you, it’s been crazy. Well, let me explain, our school was robbed (luckily they didn’t steal much, just $150 from our 3rd and 4th graders books order). We are under budget (about $55,000 in a hole). The SM’s have to move out of their apartments and move in one apartment. Our enrollment is low (our classroom budget was decreased about 80%). They also are planning to let go of one or two staff members. We can’t miss a day of school, even if we are sick cause we have no subs. And that’s just a few things that are occurring at the moment.
However, I have to say that I am blessed. God has been with me all this time and I wouldn’t want to change anything in my life right now. Well, maybe some of the things that are happening at the school, but that’s about it! Through this chaos, many blessings have occurred.
My current roommates and I have planned a way that we can get closer with the community and at the same time help our school’s budget. We are planning to give English classes to any member in the community who wishes—well that’s as soon as the “board” approves us. A percentage of the money we make will be applied to the school. We don't know if this plan will work, but I thought this would be a GREAT way to minister to the community. I would love to give Bible studies, if God allows me to.
As for my kids, they are so happy. We went to the zoo yesterday. They loved it! We also, have open house tomorrow. They are excited—myself on the other hand, I am soo nervous.
As for my roommates, they are really cool. I can't complain. Please pray for the Drama team I am helping direct and for the tutoring classes I will be teaching next week to one of my students. Oh and please pray for this new idea that we have (about teaching English to the ASIAN community). We really want to get involve with our community. Please pray for enrollment.
