Together we’re better

In Ephesians it says,

“Be imitators of God, as beloved

children, and live in love.”

At SWAU, we do our best to “live in love.” Because ours is a community that welcomes people from all over America and the world, we strive to view our differences as points of interest rather than points of conflict. What does Korean food taste like? How do you say, “advanced calculus,” in Romanian? What are Adventists like in Africa?

Our diversity enhances us. Students routinely comment how much they enjoy their friends from other countries and cultures, how much they’ve learned about the world and how they’ve come to appreciate new perspectives and experiences offered by their classmates.

Instead of clinging to familiar friends, students at SWAU reach out to others in their activities and classes, taking joy in all their friendships. This is a rare and special place where students revel in their differences as they work to grow as people, professionals and Christians. At SWAU, we are not estranged by our diversity, rather “in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
