30,000 + Fossils
With a world-class collection of over 30,000 fossils that continues to grow each summer, we now house one of the largest upper Cretaceous dinosaur collections in the United States! Come see our collection and learn how fossils are excavated, processed and preserved.

National Recognition
We were recently recognized in the Journal of Paleontological Sciences for our work on fossils from the Hell Creek and Lance Formations, which are some of the most fossil-rich bonebeds in the United States, located in Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota. In the article, which discusses a census of approximately 65 universities and institutions with dinosaur bone databases, we were named, along with the University of California Museum of Paleontology and Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, as providing “the most detail in the easiest and most aesthetic format.” Our museum, in particular, was distinguished for providing “photographs, historical and geologic context for just about every specimen in the large and mostly complete database.”

General Tour

The general tour runs around one hour and is led by a student paleontologist. Admission will be $5 or $3 for veterans, seniors, health care workers and children under 12 years of age. School groups also get a discount at $3 per child.

Beginning with a video that takes you to "The Dig", you'll have the opportunity to observe the steps and processes taken to excavate, catalog, and preserve these fossils, walk through the vaults where one of America's largest collections of Cretaceous dinosaur bones are stored, clean your own fossils and experience the wonder of dinosaurs!

By the time you depart, you are bound to have an appreciation and understanding of the research and work that goes into our world-class project.
