The Hal Wright Science and Religion Lecture Series presents “Conservation: God Cares and We Should Too” by Dr. Jared Wood, Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at Southwestern Adventist University.
The lecture will cover the significance of conservation and why it should matter to people from all walks of life. Specifically, Dr. Wood will talk about what the Bible says about conservation and why this information is still relevant to Christians today. He will discuss global and local threats to biodiversity as well as some conservation initiatives currently being conducted at SWAU.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
This is the inaugural year for The Hal Wright Science and Religion Lecture Series. This program follows in the footsteps of the 11-year running Saxon Lecture Series in Science and Religion that featured many topics such as Galileo, John Harvey Kellogg, evolution, dinosaurs, creation, the beauty of mathematics, the environment, and the new atheism. Similar to the Saxon lectures, The Hal Wright Science and Religion Lecture Series is designed to promote intellectual discussion on topics or issues related to science or religion.
