James K. Hopps

Jim was born in Madison, Tennessee, and graduated from  Takoma Academy and Baylor University Law School. His son, Jim, graduated from Southwestern in 1996. His father, Herbert, and mother, Ivanette Woodall, graduated in 1942 and 1939, respectively, from then Southwestern Junior College.

As envisioned by its pioneers and endowed by their sacrifice, Southwestern has a history of training godly, committed leaders, with a heart for ministry and a calling to change the world. The Jim Hopps Scholarship was created to help continue that heritage.
