Ken Shaw, EdD
Ed.D. Mathematics Education
Southwestern Adventist University welcomed Dr. Ken Shaw as its 25th President in July of 2014. “It has been a privilege to serve among Christian faculty and staff to provide a quality Christian education for each student that comes to our University,” Shaw states. During his short tenure, the University has been blessed in the renovations of many buildings, a significant increase in fundraising, the opening of the Dinosaur Science Museum, and most recently the near completion of the new $16M Larry R. Moore Nursing and Administrative Building. These changes are possible because of the support of the extended community of alumni and friends and the dedicated employees who make this institution a special place to attend college.
“I am convicted that God led us here. My faith has grown stronger due to the many blessings God has given to the University. My wife, Ann, and I love the interaction we have with our students and we ask for your prayers on behalf of our students, faculty, staff and administrators.” Dr. Shaw came from Florida State University where he served for 25 years as a professor, campus administrator and academic dean. The Shaws have been married for 39 years and have two children, Kate and Martin.
