Born and raised in Brazil, completed her BSN at the Adventist College of Nursing in Sao Paulo in 1989. In 2001 moved to Berrien Springs, Michigan, with her husband, Joaquim Azevedo Neto, to attend Andrews University, graduating in 1994 with a Master’s degree in Nursing. Has been married for 29 years to her best friend! Proud mother of five children and a daughter-in-law. As an author and general editor, she has led a pioneer project with a group of 49 pastors’ wives, culminating in the publication of a ministerial book in 2015. She’s currently translating the book into Portuguese. Marcia is trilingual. 

She continues to work once a week at the labor and delivery unit of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Cleburne, Texas.

Her current hobby, besides going for walks with her family, is to finish building a tree house with her kids, on her sheep and goat farm.
