Students Affected by Natural Disasters

Our hearts go out to you and your family.  Our goal at Southwestern Adventist University is to remove as much stress from the application and financial aid process as possible for you. As a Christian University, we are praying for you, your family and your friends that you will find the courage and strength to move forward.

Here is how SWAU can help.

Application deadlines:  Deadlines will be extended.  Students from affected areas, who need individualized assistance for guidance through the process, please email

Application fees:  Waived

Test Scores:  Testing agencies are working with students to help them reschedule testing if needed.  SWAU will grant early admission to students with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher without test scores.  SAT or ACT scores must be submitted before registration for placement in English and Math courses.  Students who have no access to taking the test – may take alternative tests upon arrival to campus.

Documents:  SWAU work with each student regarding transcripts, medical records, or other documents needed for a smooth transition.

Financial Aid:  Student Financial Services has a designated counselor for students from specified Federal disaster areas.  If you need assistance in filing the FAFSA or other questions regarding scholarships or aid – please contact Joe Zemleduch at
