Pick 2 Community ESL Program

The Pick 2 Community ESL Program at Southwestern Adventist University is designed for busy adults who want high-quality English classes with a flexible schedule. Choose the English skills that are most important to you and study at a pace that fits your life.

Whether you want to communicate better at work, help your children with school, or become more confident in everyday conversations, Pick 2 makes learning English practical, affordable, and achievable.

Choose Any Two English Skills

Each semester, you may select two of the following skill areas:

  • Speaking & Listening (Oral Communication)
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Grammar

You can continue taking different skill combinations in future semesters until you complete all four areas. Students who successfully complete all four skills and meet program requirements will receive a Community ESL Certificate of Completion.

Class Schedule

  • Semester-based program
  • In-person classes
  • Classes offered between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM
  • Students choose the class schedule that best fits their lifestyle and responsibilities.

Admission

  • Complete the Non-Traditional Student Admissions
  • Application No transcripts are required
  • Take an English placement assessment so we can place you in the appropriate level.

Tuition

  • Pick 2 Program Tuition: $3,246 for two ESL courses for 2026-2027
  • Students purchase their own textbooks and classroom supplies.

Optional expenses include:

  • Tutoring (hourly rate)
  • Conversation Club
  • Field trips (participants are welcome to join by covering their own transportation, admission, and meal costs)
