From April 11-14, Southwestern Adventist University welcomed nearly a thousand alumni to the university's campus for its annual homecoming event. During the four-day celebration, which welcomed alumni from across the United States and internationally, the university welcomed graduates from eight decades of classes and honored five alumni for their contribution to society.
The weekend featured class parties, alumni vs. student athletic events, a variety of guest speakers, young alumni events, and musical performances by One Desire, the Company, and the University Singers. The campus welcomed many first-time returnees as well as hundreds of seasoned homecoming attendees.
"Everyone was so friendly at Alumni Homecoming Weekend,” shared Stephanie Wilczynski, a 2014 graduate of Southwestern Adventist University and one of this year’s honorees. “I truly felt like part of the family as I was welcomed by many friendly faces, professors and friends I hadn't seen in a long time."
Through fundraising functions through the weekend, alumni joined together to raise thousands of dollars for the university through the 22nd annual Golf Classic Tournament, the Keene About Runnin 5K event, and the Student Missions Benefit Breakfast.
“I am always grateful when alumni make the journey home to Southwestern Adventist University,” said Vonda Seals, Director of Alumni Relations. “This weekend was a time to reminisce and reconnect at a place that holds a special place in all of our hearts.”
